DESIGN ENGINEER

Full-Time position – Design Engineer
Salary commensurate with experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working under general supervision:

Analyzes data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
Designs products or systems applying knowledge of engineering principles
Produce engineering drawings required to prove above designs
Aid drafting department with producing quality production drawings
Develops methods and procedures for testing products or systems
Directs and coordinates fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications
Field questions from other departments in implementing design
Perform FEA when necessary to verify complex structural designs
May evaluate field installation
May require off-site technical work, both domestic and international

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. If required, employee must be able to meet requirements for United States Department of Defense security clearance. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Requires degree, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, from four-year accredited college or university in specified field. Prefer at least 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area or a combination of additional education and experience. Must have good skills in writing and preparing reports and have exceptional organizational skills.

Employee should be physically able to travel off-site as needed.
